From the end of 1980s - beginning of 1990s in Yemen, with the participation of "Zarubezhneft" as the General Contractor and General Supplier, an oil field at the oil field West Ayad was created and set in operation. The oil field is estimated to produce 1,2 million tons a year.

In Iran in the beginning of 1990-s Zarubezhneft carried out engineering and geological surveys in the offshore areas of the Caspian Sea and drilled an exploratory well to a depth of 6000 m.

Cuba

Considering the work experience in Cuba in soviet times, strategic targets of “Zarubezhneft” include resuming cooperation with the Cuban companies.

“Zarubezhneft” plans to develop activities in partnership with the Cuban state oil company “Cubapetroleo” (Cupet) in three main fields: conduction of geological and prospecting operations, enhancing oil recovery rate with application of thermal and integrated methods of formation treatment, shipment of Russian spare parts and special equipment for the facilities in the industry.

Venezuela

“Zarubezhneft” is establishing partnership with the State oil and gas company “Petroleus de Venezuela, S.A.” (PdVSA). Negotiations are held for cooperation in conduction of geological and prospecting operations in the region of the river Orinoko basin and enhancing of oil recovery rate with application of thermal and integrated methods of formation treatment in the fields of the country.
